What Every CISSP Candidate Should Know About the Certification Exam

In order to earn your CISSP Certificate, you need to first successfully pass the certification exam.

Here are some answers to common questions regarding the CISSP Certification exam:

Q1) How much does the exam cost?

The CISSP Certification exam will cost you $549 if you submit your registration at least 16 days before the test date. If you register 15 days or less prior to the exam, you will have to pay an extra $50.

Q2) What will be covered on the exam?

The CISSP Certification exam will cover the 10 Common Body of Knowledge domains, which are:

  1. Access Control
  2. Information Security and Risk Management
  3. Cryptography
  4. Physical Security
  5. Security Architecture and Design
  6. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
  7. Telecommunications and Networking Security
  8. Application Development Security
  9. Operations Security
  10. Legal, Regulations, Compliance and Investigations

You will have 6 hours to attempt 250 multiple choice questions.

Q3) What is the passing score?

To pass the exam and earn your CISSP Certificate, you need a scaled score of 700 points or more.
