CISA – Every IS Auditor’s Dream Certification

Word Factors in redThe Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) program has been the global benchmark of accomplishment among information systems (IS) auditors, controllers and system security practitioners since 1978. The expertise and performance that the CISA qualification upholds and evaluates are the building blocks of success when it comes to auditing information systems.

The CISA Certification program was created for the following reasons:

  • To evaluate the competency of an auditor in charge of conducting information systems audits
  • To aid auditors in maintaining and enhancing their skills
  • To monitor the success of the maintenance program
  • To establish a standard which can help management in the selection of personnel

The CISA Certification is based on universally accepted technical practices, making it one of the most sought after certifications for security professionals. Candidates looking to become certified must first meet some very stringent requirements set by ISACA –

  • Pass the CISA Certification examination
    • The CISA Certification exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions. The scores are reported on a scale of 200 to 800 points.  A candidate is required to receive a score of 450 or higher to emerge as a successful candidate.
  • Agree to adhere to ISACA’s Code of Professional Ethics
  • Submit evidence of a minimum of five years of professional IS auditing, control, or security work experience
