Understanding Microsoft® Online Training

Microsoft Online TrainingDo you think that you have what it takes to command top wages in your chosen field? If you don’t have the Microsoft® training to back your confidence up, you may be seriously overestimating your worth to potential employers.

Microsoft Is a Global Standard

If there’s one lesson you can learn from Bill Gates’ financial successes, it’s that you’re going to encounter Microsoft products no matter where you work. Microsoft applications are used for everything from simple messaging to complex document creation to IT service delivery to data analysis.

As such, you need to be well-versed in how to use common applications like Microsoft Office, but you will also benefit from higher-level, specialized programs like Lync, SharePoint and SQL server. Find more detailed descriptions of Microsoft Office programs.

How Do I Prove My Abilities?

Most people learn Microsoft applications by doing. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this approach, it’ll only take you so far. In order to show prospective employers that you can use applications to their fullest extent and adhere to information usage standards, it is beneficial to become a Microsoft-Certified professional, and Microsoft online training is the easiest way to do so.

By completing various Microsoft products training online, you can maintain your current schedule while you advance your knowledge base. Online training provides you with the flexibility you need to enhance your skill set and keep your job.

What does Microsoft Certification Entail?

CompTIA®, ITIL® and other similar certifications focus on general bodies of subject knowledge. Most Microsoft training and certification, on the other hand, is based on learning the ins and outs of specific applications.

After you complete your online coursework, you’ll take an exam that may last anywhere from two to three hours. These usually include 40 to 90 questions structured around solution building, drag-and-drop task completion or multiple-choice responses. There are also simulations in which you’ll be asked to handle common administrator tasks.

Microsoft Certifications differ based on the application and subject matter. Some, like Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), build on each other and require recertification after different time periods depending on the specific subject matter.

Others certifications, like Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), do not require recertification and are easier to obtain through third-party training companies. Many older credentials, such as Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, have been or are in the process of being retired from use.

Why Should I Train Online?

It’s important to keep your Microsoft Certifications current. Employers who see that you’re a certified professional in good standing will find you more attractive as a potential employee. Because Microsoft training online lets you build your skill set in your own time, it makes it much easier to keep up with your professional life and improve your career prospects simultaneously.
