Take the Local Animal Shelter Support Challenge from Ashford Global IT

Animal Shelter SupportAccording to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, ASPCA®, there are approximately 7.6 million homeless animals per year and only about 13,600 independent community shelters to care for them. Sadly, about 2.7 million of them are euthanized each year because they aren’t adopted.

Ashford Global IT would like to challenge other firms in our industry to step up the fight against animal homelessness by donating to your local animal shelter. We recently donated to the Cat Protection Society in Eustis, Florida.

The Cat Protection Society is one of central Florida’s largest and most popular animal shelters. With several hundred cats under its care at any given time, the facility provides basic animal welfare services and actively recruits members of the community to adopt its temporary residents.

In addition to a cash donation, Ashford employees donated laundry detergent, blankets and other items to help with the operation of the facility and the care of the cats. Our hope is this donation helps in their goal to provide the best possible care for cats and kittens in their care while continuing its program of community outreach.

Support Your Local Animal Shelter

Shelters often struggle to feed, house and meet the medical needs of their animals. Support from local businesses and citizens is the only way many of these facilities are able to operate. Whether support of your local shelter comes in the form of money, supplies or volunteering, you can be sure it will help.

Oh, and you might want to consider the best gift of all, providing a furever home for a shelter animal. Two Ashford employees couldn’t resist and adopted three cats from the Cat Protection Society. Although neither had meant to adopt, both are so happy they decided to do so. The cats love being pampered and are adjusting well to life in their new homes.

We encourage all those in the IT training industry to reach out to your local animal shelters and help. No donation is too small and you never know when you might meet your perfect animal companion in the process.
