The ITIL® Foundation Course – An Overview

To acquire the ITIL Foundation Certification, you must pass the ITIL Foundation Certification examination. The Foundation Certification certifies that the holder has acquired an understanding of the basics of ITIL and the main processes involved in IT Service Management practices.

The ITIL Foundation Certification examination consists of forty (40) multiple choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes. The passing score is 65% or 26 correct answers out of 40 questions. Upon successful passing of the exam, the student shall earn 2 credits in the ITIL V3 Qualification Scheme.

  • Traditional Classroom Training – This training takes place in a physical classroom and lasts for 3 days.  The training sessions run from 8:30am to 4:30pm each day.  Classes are held throughout the United States. The ITIL V3 Foundation Certification examination is given on the last day of training.
  • Virtual Instructor-Led Training – Virtual instructor-led training allows students to attend and participate in classes from anywhere in the world as long as they have access to a computer and a reliable Internet connection. This course is held over five half-day sessions, usually scheduled from 1pm to 5pm EST. During each session, students are able to communicate with their classmates and instructor via chat windows.
  • eLearning/Self-Paced Training – This eLearning course provides students with real-life, hands-on training that is fun and engaging. Here, participants will attend a Virtual Training Conference at a hotel in Bangkok and will have the chance to assist hotel management by applying the ITIL knowledge and competencies they have learned from the course. Students will be able to access the course material at their convenience for a period of 20 days.
