So You Want To Be A CPDE?

Security and safety of cloud computingLearn How to Revolutionize Your Workplace

If you work at an IT company or are part of the IT department at your organization, you may have encountered a situation where your ITIL knowledge just wasn’t sufficient. Despite having a CMMI, MOF, or ITIL V3 Certification to vouch for your skills, you may have some difficulty when a Change is introduced to one of your processes. In order to learn how to create or enhance processes, the Certified Process Design Engineer (CPDE) Certification is definitely worth having.

If you haven’t heard of the CPDE Certification, read on because this is the place to find out all about the CPDE Certification and what it has to offer to you.

First of all, the Certified Process Design Engineer Certification course is a five day course. Just like most ITIL V3 Certification courses, CPDE will be taught through lectures and scenario-based team and individual activities to best present the core disciplines. With the help of both, you will be able to make or enhance IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.

The CPDE Certification course concentrates on teaching you the following:

  • Information on process frameworks, standards, and maturity models
  • Knowledge about process elements, models, usage, and deliverables
  • Methods for gathering and analyzing the requirements of processes
  • The differences between the three functions you would perform on a process (i.e., development, re-engineering, and improvement)
  • How to assign and manage roles, responsibilities, and functions during process design
  • How to develop a process definition document
  • What flowcharting techniques are and how to implement them
  • The proper way to use automation within processes
  • How to find errors in processes and then improve the processes
  • Methods for developing meaningful metrics and ways to convert data into usable information
  • Concepts for organizational Change Management

Imagine how valuable you will be to your organization. Plus, your work won’t have to stop due to any Changes. Instead, you will be enjoying a more organized atmosphere that functions in a cost-effective manner. In addition, if you apply for the CPDE Certification, passing the exam won’t only make you a Certified Process Design Engineer but it will also add 1.5 credits towards the ITIL V3 Expert Level of certification.  Project Management Professionals will earn 38 contact hours or PDUs upon completion of this course.

Now, before you get too excited and head to the nearest institute, you should check whether the certification’s prerequisites apply to you or not. Don’t sweat it, there is only one: you should have a Foundation Certification in ITSM. It can be any of the following:

  • ITIL Foundation
  • ISO/IEC 20000 Foundation
  • MOF Foundation
  • CobiT Foundation

With that in the bag, get yourself signed up for a Certified Process Design Engineer Certification course and prepare yourself for the certification exam. The CPDE Certification exam will be taken on the last day of the course and will consist of multiple choice, scenario-based questions. If you have trained well, the 90-minute exam will be challenging yet manageable.

So, are you ready to become a Certified Process Design Engineer?
