Self-Paced ITIL® Foundation Course

PDCA Lifecycle (Plan Do Check Act)Depending on your training needs and lifestyle, there are many training options to choose from. Florida-based Ashford Global IT (AGIT) currently offers the following methods of training for the ITIL® Foundation course: on-site training, open-enrollment courses, virtual instructor-led training, and self-paced training.  Each has its own advantages, but the focus of this article is on self-paced study. With self-paced training, there are plenty of benefits to be had, including:

  • Learning at your convenience. Whether you need to study late at night, early in the morning, or even during your lunch hour, you can do so with self-paced training. Self-paced training makes the ITIL Foundation course more accessible. You don’t have to schedule your life around training because you can schedule your training around your life.
  • Learning at your pace. In a classroom-style training program, time and resources are limited. You are typically going to be trained at a pace that is based on the fastest learners or the slower learners. Either way, you are losing out because the training is either too fast for you to catch on or too slow and causing boredom and a lack of attention. With self-paced training, you can learn at your speed.
  • More flexibility. In today’s fast-paced IT industry, there is a lot going on. Everyone has their own lives, careers, and time limitations. ITIL Foundation training is critical in teaching the ITIL best practices. Being able to focus on the material on your schedule allows you to learn easier and learn more.
