Course Description
The CompTIA A+® (2009 Objectives) Certification exam-preparation course is designed for individuals who have an interest in becoming a personal computer (PC) technician or an entry-level information technology (IT) professional. This course will build on your existing user-level knowledge and experience with personal computer software and hardware. It will present fundamental skills and concepts that you will use on the job. Students will gain the requisite knowledge of basic computer hardware and operating systems including principles and techniques for installing, building, configuring, optimizing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and preventive maintenance as well as the basics of networking. Other topics studied in this course include professionalism and customer service skills. This course will prepare students to pass the two exams required to earn the international vendor-neutral CompTIA A+ Certification: CompTIA A+ Essentials Exam 220-701 and CompTIA A+ Practical Application Exam 220-702. With the CompTIA A+ Certification in hand, employers and customers are assured that you have the necessary knowledge to build, upgrade, optimize, troubleshoot, and repair personal computer (PC) systems.
This course uses a combination of lecture and scenario-based team and individual activities and exercises to best present the core disciplines of CompTIA A+. It is designed to prepare the learner for the associated exams. This CompTIA A+ Certification training course includes:

This course meets the training requirements for DOD 8570.1.
Course Objective: You will install, upgrade, repair, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on basic personal computer hardware and operating systems.
Target Student: This course is intended foranyone with basic computer user skills who is interested in obtaining a job as an IT professional or PC technician. In addition, this course will help prepare students to achieve the CompTIA A+ Certification.
