There are several requirements to becoming a CISSP. One of these is passing the CISSP Certification exam with a scaled score of 700 points or greater. However, before you can sit for the exam, candidates must have a minimum of five years of full-time employment experience in at least two of the ten CBK domains mentioned above. It should be noted that one year of experience may be waived for having either a four-year college degree, a Master's degree in Information Security, or one of the many other security certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CompTIA Security+. Please consult (ISC)2’s website for a list of approved credentials that qualify for an experience waiver.
An additional prerequisite is having your qualifications endorsed by another (ISC)2 certified professional in good standing. The endorser confirms that the candidate's affirmation regarding professional experience is true to the best of their knowledge and that the applicant has a good reputation within the Information Security industry.
