Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
Course Description:
The Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) course will provide participants with knowledge of technical concepts for competency in Information Systems auditing, control, and security.
This intense course will help prepare participants for the CISA exam by focusing on the six domains of the CISA exam:
- The IS Audit Process,
- IT Governance,
- Systems and Infrastructure Life Cycle Management,
- IT Service Delivery and Support,
- Protection of Information Assets, and
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
The CISA certification has become a recognized benchmark in the industry to assure there is commonality among information systems audit. This certification signifies proficiency and demonstrates a duty to assisting a company by serving the company’s IS audit, control, and security needs. An IS Auditor is responsible for administering an independent analysis of information executed on a specific computer system.
Common responsibilities of an IS Auditor include but are not limited to:
- Analyzing operational systems to ensure they comply with government and organizational policies and procedures.
- Evaluating the reliability on the system of internal controls as they relate to the computer operations for the expression of an opinion on the financial statements.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
This course meets the training requirements for DOD 8570.1.

Prerequisites for the exam:
- None
You will need to register for the exam with ISACA. The exam is given only by ISACA and is given in ONLY June and December. Registration should be completed approximately 45 days in advance of the exam. The next exam is on June 9, 2012. Registration for this exam closes on April 4, 2012.
