The ITIL® Foundation Training Course – A Brief Overview
Drawing on the international public and private sectors, the IT Infrastructure Library® (ITIL®) provides an in-depth set of best practice guidance which can provide greater value to customers, in the form of services. ITIL is the most widely-accepted approach towards IT Service Management (ITSM) in the world.
There are four levels in the ITIL V3 Qualification Scheme: ITIL Foundation in IT Service Management, ITIL Intermediate Level, ITIL Expert, and ITIL Master.
The ITIL V3 Foundation training course focuses on introducing the basic principles and concepts of ITIL and ITSM. This course identifies the five stages of the Service Lifecycle (Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement) and describes the key processes, roles, and activities that take place within each stage. Students will learn how they can integrate the Service Lifecycle into their business’s IT infrastructure. Through the ITIL Foundation course, students will gain a deeper understanding of how IT and business processes can collaborate to increase overall business productivity and efficiency. Students will also learn how to make the dynamic relationship between IT and customers more proactive. Students will study ITSM and ITIL concepts through exciting and interactive lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities.
The ITIL V3 Foundation course fully prepares students to pass the certification exam. The ITIL V3 Foundation Certification exam consists of 40 multiple choice questions, which must be answered within 60 minutes. The pass score is 65% (26 out of 40 questions). Professionals who successfully complete the ITIL Foundation Level can continue to the ITIL Intermediate Level.
