How to Obtain the ITIL® V3 RCV Certification
If you have already earned the ITIL® V3 Foundation Certificate, it is recommended that you continue improving your skills and opt for the ITIL V3 Release, Control and Validation (RCV) Course. The RCV processes are intertwined with other processes that make up the Service Lifecycle. In order to get your RCV Certificate, you need to go through the following steps:
Step One: Enroll in a RCV Certification Course
Before you can get your Certificate, you need to sign up for an ITIL V3 RCV certification course. However, prior to enrollment, you will be required to have an ITIL V3 Foundation Certificate or a combination of the ITIL V2 Foundation and V3 Foundation Bridge Certificates. If you still don’t have these, you should take the ITIL V3 Foundation Course.
Once in class, expect to be subjected to different scenarios that will teach you how to handle the practical aspects of the ITIL V3 Service Lifecycle and processes which are linked with the Release, Control and Validation of services and service delivery.
During the course, you will learn the practical application of the ITIL concepts, organizational structures, roles, functions, and process activities which are related to the following processes:
- Change Management
- Service Validation and Testing
- Release and Deployment Management
- Service Asset and Configuration Management
- Request Fulfillment
- Service Evaluation
- Knowledge Management.
With the knowledge you gain from this course, you will be able to execute these processes in a controlled and cost-effective manner. Thus, you will be able to enhance the quality of your workplace’s IT department. Plus, you will be ready to take the ITIL V3 Release, Control and Validation Certification Exam.
Step Two: Know Your Exam
On the first day, your instructor will explain the exam for you. For the ITIL V3 RCV Certification, you will have to attempt 8 multiple choice, scenario-based questions. Each question will have four possible answer options: one which is worth 5 marks, another which is worth 3 marks, one which is worth one mark, and one which is a distracter, thus containing no marks. Keep in mind that you have to secure at least 70% in order to pass this exam and earn your ITIL V3 Release, Control and Validation Certificate. The Release, Control and Validation Certification exam will last for 90 minutes and can be given to candidates in their respective language.
